Lesbians Embracing Aging

An Introduction Lesbians Embracing Aging (LEA) has been formed by a group of women wanting to create a caring network for socialization and assistance as we age in place.

To stay in the residence of our choice as we grow older, we must be able to: care for ourselves and our residence travel to stores and appointments socialize in meaningful ways.

Several studies indicate that Lesbians are less likely to access services, senior centers and health care due to lifetime experiences of discrimination. Therefore, developing a network of LBTQIA women to share information, services and referrals is extremely valuable as we age.

The mission of LEA is to encourage and assist LBTQIA women with healthy aging by creating support networks of socialization, information, and healthcare.

We are forming a hub of LBTQIA Women and allies willing to help one another navigate the changes and challenges of aging and help make the myriad of available services more accessible.
